A buyer profile is free and gives you full access to all offers on the platform. You can see prices, contact suppliers directly, and use the tendering tool to post projects and receive offers from suitable producers.
A supplier profile is paid (annual fee) and allows you to present your own products and services on Hortinex. Suppliers also benefit from being automatically informed about relevant tenders that match their assortment. This way, orders come directly to you.

Yes, registration for a buyer profile is permanently free. With it, you can view all offers, compare prices, contact suppliers, and create tenders.
If you want to offer products or services yourself, however, you need a paid supplier profile. This is billed annually and allows you to present your assortment professionally and gain orders through tenders or direct contact with buyers.
Yes – with the supplier profile you automatically also have all the benefits of the buyer profile. This means: you can both purchase products, create tenders, and compare offers, while at the same time publishing your own assortment and reaching new customers.
You always start with a free buyer profile. Once you book a supplier profile (including a 30-day trial), you use both roles in parallel – without restrictions.
3. Listing & Managing Products
To list products on Hortinex, you need a supplier profile. Only then can you publish your own listings and present your assortment.
You have three options available:
- Single Listing
- Ideal for individual products or special offers.
- You manually enter all details (e.g. botanical name, cultivation form, size, price, etc.) and upload images if needed.
- Top Listing
- Works like a single listing but is specially highlighted and receives more visibility.
- Suitable for bestsellers, seasonal highlights, or products that need to sell quickly.
- Mass Upload (Excel)
- Perfect for extensive assortments.
- You upload an Excel file that is automatically converted into the Hortinex format. Your items are online within minutes and professionally displayed.
This way you can choose: specifically promote individual items or make your entire assortment visible at once.
The mass upload is the fastest way to list a large number of items in the “Plants” category on Hortinex. Instead of creating each listing individually, you can upload your entire assortment in one go via an Excel file.
Here’s how it works:
- Download the Hortinex Excel template under “My Online Listings” in your dashboard.
- Enter the key data for your plants, for example:
- Botanical name
- Cultivation form (e.g. potted plant, field-grown plant with root ball, young plant in propagation tray, unrooted cutting, etc.)
- Characteristics, size and quality specifications
- Prices and availability
- And much more
Fill in all mandatory fields. The Excel file includes helpful input guides to make editing easier.
Optionally, you can add product images via weblink – these will automatically be imported.

Yes, you can edit or delete any item at any time – regardless of whether it was originally listed individually or via mass upload.
Management is centralized in the “My Online Listings” area. There you can:
- Edit items: Open the desired listing, change prices, quantities, sizes, or images, and save the update.
- Delete items: With one click you can remove products as soon as they are no longer available.
Additionally, the mass upload provides a convenient workflow:
- You can always download your current inventory as an Excel file.
- Delete items: If you remove a row in this Excel file and re-upload it, the corresponding item will also be deleted on Hortinex.
- Edit items: If you change attributes (e.g. prices or quantities) in the Excel file and re-upload it, the item will automatically be updated.
- Then simply upload the updated file again – the system matches the data and updates your assortment automatically.
This way you can keep your assortment up to date at all times – whether for quick price adjustments, quantity updates, or removing unavailable items.
All products you list automatically appear in the appropriate categories on Hortinex and are visible to registered buyers. The presentation is clearly structured and tailored to the needs of the industry:
Product view: Each item has its own page with all key information – botanical and common name, cultivation form, quantities, sizes, prices, and availability. Buyers can find everything at a glance.
Images & Links: Uploaded product images or linked URLs are displayed directly in the listing, making your offer more attractive.
Filter & Search: Buyers can find products using search and filters (e.g. botanical name, size, cultivation form). This ensures your items are easily found even in large assortments.
Company link: Each product is linked to your supplier profile. Buyers not only see the product but also your company – including contact details and other offers.
Special Highlighting: If you mark products as Top Listings, they appear in preferred positions and gain more visibility.

Business processing on Hortinex does not take place directly via the platform, but always individually between supplier and buyer. Hortinex establishes the connection – the actual processing (e.g. order, invoice, delivery) is handled directly between the business partners.

Each item is linked to the supplier’s digital business card. Buyers can contact the supplier directly by phone or email, or send a message via the integrated Hortinex chat.
For tenders:
When a buyer posts a tender and it matches an item in a supplier’s assortment, the supplier is automatically notified. They receive the tender and can send an offer directly to the buyer. Communication also takes place individually and directly between buyer and supplier.
This keeps all business transparent, flexible, and commission-free – the platform connects the right partners, but terms are agreed directly between you.
Top Listings are specially highlighted product listings that give you much more visibility than regular listings.

Yes, as a provider you have the option to comprehensively present your company on Hortinex, thereby building more trust with buyers. In addition to your products, you can enrich your profile with additional information and media:

Buyer profiles, on the other hand, only contain basic contact details – so providers know who is behind inquiries or tenders.
On Hortinex, you can provide your products with either images or image links – depending on how you create the listing:
Single listing / Top listing:
Here you can upload images directly. All common formats are supported (e.g. JPG, PNG). This gives you flexibility and allows you to add photos directly from your PC or smartphone.
Bulk upload:
In the Excel file, simply enter a web link to the desired image. The system will automatically process this and embed the image into your listing.

Yes – with a few simple measures you can significantly increase the attractiveness of your listings and improve the chances of direct inquiries:

You decide yourself whether the prices of your products are visible to all registered users or only to selected buyers.
If you restrict the prices, buyers can request price access via the platform. In this case, you will automatically receive an email with a link through which you can grant approval. Once you agree, the respective user will be added to your list of approved buyers and will see your prices from that point onward.
This gives you full control over who has insight into your conditions.
Yes, Hortinex offers the option to link your own B2B webshop directly with your listings.
For each item, you can store a product link to your shop. In the detailed view of your product, a button will then appear that takes buyers directly to your webshop.
This allows you to use Hortinex's reach to draw new customers to your own sales structures and generate additional orders outside the platform.
4. Tenders
Every registered user on Hortinex can create a tender – regardless of whether they have a buyer or provider profile.
With a free buyer profile, you can publish your needs and receive suitable offers from providers.
Providers also have the option to post tenders, for example if they are looking for certain products or need additional capacities.
Important: Responding to tenders and submitting offers is only possible with a provider profile. Buyers can publish tenders but cannot submit offers.
Creating a tender on Hortinex is deliberately simple and clearly structured. Every registered user – whether buyer or provider – can publish a tender with just a few details:
Enter botanical name
Select cultivation form (e.g. potted plant)
Add a freely editable quality description (e.g. certain height, trunk circumference, or sorting)
Specify the required quantity
Optionally add a description text to provide additional information or special requirements
In addition, you can provide the following information for the entire tender:
- A title/name of the tender (e.g. “Fruit trees spring planting 2025”)
- A general description text for the overall requirement
- Set a tender deadline by which providers can submit their offers
With just a few entries, your tender is immediately published and automatically matched with suitable providers.
The core of the tender tool is the automatic matching. As soon as you post a tender, Hortinex compares your details with the providers’ assortments.
Example: You are looking for 500 Taxus baccata as potted plants. Hortinex compares the botanical name and cultivation form and automatically notifies all producers who have this product in their assortment.
These providers receive the tender directly and can make you a targeted offer.
Other providers who do not match exactly can still view the tender and, if interested, also submit an offer.
This ensures that your tender quickly reaches the right businesses – and you receive the best offers on the market.
Your tender is visible exclusively to registered providers on Hortinex. Buyer profiles have no access to the tender overview.
To ensure you reach the right partners, automatic matching runs in the background:
Suitable providers (e.g. based on botanical name and cultivation form) are directly notified by Hortinex and automatically receive your tender.
All other providers can also see the tender in their overview and, if interested, submit an offer.
This ensures that your tender specifically reaches only producers who can submit offers – and you as a buyer receive the best responses.
For suppliers, tenders are a direct way to win new contracts without having to actively search for buyers themselves. As soon as a buyer publishes a tender, suppliers benefit in several ways:

As soon as you create a tender, it will automatically be forwarded to suitable suppliers. This works in two ways:

As soon as a supplier responds to your tender, they also receive your contact details. This allows them to send their offer individually to you and contact you directly with any questions.

5. Costs & Billing
Suppliers pay an annual fee of €499. This gives you access to all features of the supplier profile, including:
- Publish products individually or via mass upload
- Present your company professionally with logo, gallery, videos and key figures
- Automatically receive suitable tenders and submit offers
- Contact buyers directly via phone, email or the Hortinex chat
The buyer profile remains permanently free. Every user automatically starts with a buyer profile and can use it to search for products, view prices (if released), contact suppliers and create tenders.
If you upgrade from a buyer profile to a supplier profile, you also benefit from a 30-day free trial. This allows you to try out the benefits without obligation before the annual fee of €499 becomes due.

Yes – you can cancel your supplier profile at any time easily in the menu settings.
After cancellation, your profile will remain active until the end of the already paid subscription period. It will then be automatically deactivated and you will not incur any further costs. However, your free buyer profile will continue to exist, so that even after cancellation you can continue to search for products, contact suppliers and create tenders.
This way you always keep full flexibility.
6. Languages & Internationality
Currently, Hortinex is available in German and English. This allows you to use the platform both nationally and internationally without any problems.
Additional language versions will be activated shortly – including Dutch, Spanish, Italian and French. Step by step, Hortinex is growing into a fully multilingual platform for the global horticulture industry.
Yes – we are gradually expanding the platform with more languages. In the coming weeks, additional language versions such as Dutch, Spanish, Italian and French will be integrated. This way we are creating an even broader basis for international trade.
Yes – Hortinex has been designed as an international platform from the very beginning. Suppliers and buyers from all countries can register, create profiles and use the platform.
Thanks to multilingualism and the ability to easily transfer assortments into the Hortinex format via mass upload, it is particularly easy to list and compare international offers.

Your data is in safe hands with Hortinex. We use modern encryption technologies and comply with applicable data protection laws (GDPR). Personal information, company data and payment information are processed exclusively for the use of the platform and not passed on to third parties.
In addition, you always have full control over your data: you can manage profile information yourself, delete listings and deactivate your account if you wish.
